Momentum Builds After Le Castellet Podium
Another consistent weekend, another podium finish, and this time the championship lead to match it. Richard Verschoor continued his impressive start to the 2026 European Le Mans Series season by securing a second-place finish in the LMP2 Pro/Am class at the 4 Hours of Le Castellet together with Duqueine Team. Following their podium in Barcelona, the result in France moves the #30 Duqueine Team Oreca to the top of the championship standings after two rounds.
Strong pace throughout the weekend
From the opening sessions at Circuit Paul Ricard, Duqueine Team showed competitive pace in the LMP2 Pro/Am field. The combination of Richard Verschoor, Doriane Pin and Giorgio Roda once again proved to be one of the strongest line-ups in the category, building on the momentum gained during the season opener in Barcelona.
Over the course of four intense hours, strategy, tyre management and traffic handling played a major role around the fast and technical Le Castellet circuit. Despite heavy competition throughout the field, the #30 Oreca remained firmly in contention for class honours from start to finish.
Another podium keeps Duqueine Team in title contention
By securing another podium result in the LMP2 Pro/Am category, Duqueine Team leaves Le Castellet leading the championship standings with 31 points after two races. The consistency shown by the team in the opening phase of the season is already proving valuable in what looks set to become an extremely competitive title fight. While several rivals encountered setbacks and penalties across the weekend, the #30 crew delivered another clean and disciplined performance, collecting important points once again.
Momentum continues to build
For Richard Verschoor, the transition into endurance racing continues to gather momentum. After years of success in single-seaters, including multiple victories in Formula 2, the Dutch driver is quickly establishing himself as a serious contender in ELMS competition. Together with Duqueine Team, the focus now shifts towards maintaining consistency and continuing the strong start to the season as the championship heads to the next round.
Two races, two podiums, and the championship lead. The 2026 campaign is firmly underway.
Next up for Richard Verschoor is one of endurance racing’s greatest challenges: the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans.
